Accessibility Statement

Accessibility is part of the service rather than an addition to it. This page sets out what has been done, what has not been done yet, and how to reach me if something does not work for you.

Level of accessibility

This site has been made accessible in line with Israeli Standard IS 5568 at conformance level AA, which is based on the W3C's WCAG guidelines, as required by regulation 35 of the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 2013.

What has been done

  • Semantic structure on every page — a heading hierarchy, marked navigation and content regions, and a declared page language and writing direction.
  • A skip link to the main content, revealed on the first Tab press, so the navigation can be bypassed.
  • Full keyboard navigation, with a visible focus indicator on every interactive element.
  • Alternative text for images that carry meaning; decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
  • Text and background contrast ratios that meet the standard.
  • Touch targets large enough to use on a touchscreen, including small navigation controls.
  • The system's reduced-motion preference is honoured — anyone who has set it gets the site without animation.
  • Forms with associated labels, and error messages carried in text rather than by colour alone.
  • A layout that adapts to any screen size, including browser zoom.

How it was tested

The site was tested with automated tools (Lighthouse and the axe engine) and by hand for keyboard navigation, in Chrome, Edge and Firefox, on both desktop and mobile.

Worth saying plainly: automated testing finds only part of what can be wrong. A full audit by a certified accessibility auditor has not yet been carried out, and that is the only way to certify full conformance with the standard.

Known gaps

Some components or content may not yet be fully accessible, including video without captions or a transcript, and embedded third-party content that is not fully under my control.

Problems get fixed as they come to light. If you hit one, I would rather hear about it — it is the fastest route to a fix.
